What is Form 26QB?

Form 26QB is an online form required under the Income Tax Act, Section 194-IA, which mandates the buyer of an immovable property to deduct 1% TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) on property transactions above ₹50 lakhs.

This form must be filed with the Income Tax Department to deposit the TDS, and a TDS certificate (Form 16B) is then issued to the seller.

When there are more than two buyers or sellers, special procedures and multiple Form 26QB filings are needed, making the process more complex.
